“外研社·国才杯”全国大学生英语辩论赛是国内创办最早、规模最大、水平最高、影响最广的全国性英语辩论赛事。为进一步丰富学生的课余生活，提高学生的英语应用能力，选拔出综合素质优秀的学生代表学校参加比赛，特在全校范围内组织第26届“外研社·国才杯”英语辩论赛校园选拔赛。
一、参赛对象
英语专业类：外语学院英语类专业本科生；
非英语专业类：通过大学英语四级的本科生；校英语演讲比赛的获奖选手。
二、组队方式
每队队员为2人（分别为一辩和二辩）。
三、报名方式：
各参赛队于3月10日（周一）15：00前报名。
报名同学请加入比赛QQ群：869026158 （2025“外研社杯”英语辩论赛），并填写群公告中的报名信息登记表。
四、选拔时间与地点
时间：2025年3月13日下午（周四，暂定）
地点：待定 (QQ群通知)
五、比赛流程
本次辩论赛将参照“外研社”全国英语辩论赛的要求，采用英国议会制辩论形式。每轮次比赛由四组队伍（共八名辩手）参加，分别为Opening Proposition，Opening Opposition，Closing Proposition，Closing Opposition.
具体辩论赛流程为：
1. Opening Proposition Team, the 1st speaker
"Prime Minister" 4 minutes
2. Opening Opposition Team, the 2nd speaker
"Leader of the Opposition" 4 minutes
3. Opening Proposition Team, the 3rd speaker
"Deputy Prime Minister" 4 minutes
4. Opening Opposition Team, the 4th speaker
"Deputy Leader of the Opposition" 4 minutes
5. Closing Proposition Team, the 5th speaker
"Member of the Proposition" 4 minutes
6. Closing Opposition Team, the 6th speaker
"Member of the Opposition" 4 minutes
7. Closing Proposition Team, the 7th speaker
"Proposition Whip" 4 minutes
8. Closing Opposition Team, the 8th speaker
"Opposition Whip" 4 minutes
六、 评选方式
选拔赛评委为外语学院教师，评选结果由评委打分产生。表现最佳的两位辩手将代表beat365官网参加华南地区的辩论赛。评分标准如下：

Excellent to flawless. The standard of speech you would expect to see from a speaker at the Grand Final level of the tournament. This speaker has many strengths and few, if any, weaknesses. |
80-89 |
Above average to very good. The standard you would expect to see from a speaker at the semi-finals level or in contention to make to the finals. This speaker has clear strengths and some minor weaknesses. |
70-79 |
Average. The speaker has strengths and weaknesses and roughly equal proportions. |
60-69 |
Poor to below average. The team has clear problems and some minor strength. |
50-59
|
Very poor. This speaker has fundamental weaknesses and few, if any, strengths. |
七、辩题
辩题于比赛现场提前30分钟抽取。
注：若报名队伍较多，则会增加初赛。初赛的考察形式可能与正式比赛有所区别，主要考察辩手的英语口语表达能力。
八、决赛奖励办法
校园选拔赛将产生：冠军队1支、亚军队1支、季军队2支、优胜奖3支、最佳辩手2名。表现最佳的两位辩手将代表beat365官网参加华南地区的辩论赛。
